Roger Vivier's S/S'12 Urban Jungle Collection

I've recently re-discovered this brand and fallen a little in love with its fabulous new re-vamp.

Roger Vivier has been a name to regale since the beginning of the 20th Century and has been termed 'The Faberge of Footwear'. After all, he was the man who put the (metal) heel into stilleto and designed for illustrious Christian Dior between 1953-1963 during the couture house's height using silk, pearls, lace and beading to distinguish the Christian Dior designs.
It was Vivier's so called Pilgrim Pumps with the distinctive metal buckle that was to make the label synonymous with this design, worn by the beautiful Catherine Deneuve in 'Belle du Jour' and it is to this stalwart design that the brand has returned, to mark it out as just that little bit different and a re-classic from the burgeoning burlesque of more outre modern shoe designers, red soles and all.
The S/S'12 collection named 'Urban Jungle' from Vivier is vamped up elegance with touches of classicism but plenty of contemporary highlights especially in the souped up handbag range, many of the designs such as the Metro Bowling bag or the gorgeous sleek Diligence model (below), square set, clean and serene.
The collection plays on color blocks, optical effects and African influences and states 'the Parisian woman feels no fear in her urban jungle'. A surge of innovation and exceptional savoir-faire affords the 3D effect of leather appliques highlighting the new Prismick collection (in yellow and black, pictured above).
Sea of sequins, Zaïre pearls, leathers dipped in a Pantone spectrum of colours, celluloid mosaics and wood veneer feature as do Boubou fabrics in dazzling colours and prints uniting with sublime leathers, rich python and crystals. This is thought through luxury.
The Metro and Miss Viv’ bags (pictured above) are the Roger Vivier signature lines and are embellished for springtime with a rainbow spanning from colour blocks to denim.
The E Boutique Vivier de Vivier stocks a history of designs (shoes, bags and accessories) since Bruno Frisoni took over the brand's artistic reigns in 2002. These ultra limited edition pieces will host new surprises and additions each month for e-shoppers with the brand.  This month, the vintage Rochetto sandal adorned with roses in crepe silk with a biscuit leopard print will feature. (Pictured below, first designed for the 1947 Christian Dior collection).

Roger Vivier's store is at 188 Sloane Street, SW1. The collection can also be sought out on http://eboutique.rogervivier.com or at www.rogervivier.com and www.facebook.com/rogervivier
