So it's up early this morning and off to Paris with uber hip website farfetch.com and a few other fashion bloggers to take in a couple of farfetch.com's boutique stores. For the uninitiated, the website brings together the best niche boutiques in Europe so that you can find that elusive piece of Lanvin, Mary Katrantzou, Dries van Noten or the Sam Edelman shoes that have been eluding you.
The other glorious part of the trip will be pre interviewing and seeing Ms Josephine de la Baume (or Mrs Mark Ronson) and her brother, Alexandre's new brand of gentle pop, Singtank, perform ahead of their new album release (23rd July; UK) as part of The Playlist project.
The Playlist is an innovative initiative of farfetch.com who are partnering with six of the world’s best independent music stores and two emerging bands to fuse fashion and music and celebrate the spirit of independent music stores worldwide.
Fashion is, as ever, at the core. As part of The Playlist project farfetch.com has created two fashion films with emerging bands, S.C.U.M and Josephine's band, Singtank, both of which are being debuted at the live performances. The films both document the inspirations of the bands featured with band members wearing personally chosen pieces from farfetch.com's network of influential European fashion stores.
The independent music stores will join the existing farfetch.com marketplace in a bespoke pop-up shop for three months only.
I'll be be posting more about the trip in the next couple of days. Au revoir mes amies.
